All about G-7 Summit 2022

G-7 is in news all around the world .

In India it is the topic of discussion because our PM Narendra Modi had been invited to the summit at the Schloss Elmau,a century old retreat in the Bavarian Alps.

Members of G-7 - It is a group of seven countries which comprises of Canada,France,Germany,Italy,Japan,UK,and the US.
EUROPEAN UNION are always present as the head of state and government of G-7 at the summit.

The G-7 countries to 10% of world's population,31% of global GDP and 21% of global carbon dioxide emission.

Goals of G-7-- 1: Sustainable planet.
                         2: Economic stability and                                         transformation.     
                         3: Healthy lives.
                         4: Investment in a better                                         future.     
                         5: Stronger together.    

German Chancellor invited India, Argentina, Indonesia,Senegal,and South Africa to the Summit of 2022 as partner countries.
International organisation including UN,WHO,IMF and World Bank also participated in the Summit.


Outcome of Summit-:

1: The G-7 countries condemned the Russian invasion on Ukraine.

2: Decided to provide 28 billion EUR as aid to Ukraine for its reconstruction.

3: G-7 countries commited to stop using energy that they import from Russia .

4: The seven countries took pledge to fully decarbonise road sector by 2030,fully decarbonise power sector by 2035 and stop using domestic unabated coal power.

Investment -:

1: G-7 countries launched partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII) which is a joint initiative to fund infrastructure projects in developing countries.

2: They aim to mobilise 600 billion USD in next five years as global investment.

3: Build new Energy Transition Partnership with Indonesia,India,Senegal and Vietnam.
